Greetings coffee enthusiasts, and Happy New Year! We are honored to be continuing our journey with you in 2015, and taking you with us on this wild ride in the world of coffee. We ended 2014 with a bang (literally), and looking back, one of our favorite memories of the year was our first ever coffee cocktail competition - the Cold Brew Shakedown. It was fun and boisterous, and it brought so many unique personalities together. We loved every second. It reinforced our belief that coffee is a conduit that connects people to each other and to more joy in their lives. So in that spirit, we will be hosting our first ever Jazz Night. Join us on Wednesday, January 21st from 7pm to 9pm for free coffee and a concert centered around traditional jazz tunes that you can boogie down to. Athens locals Colin Manko and Philip Mayer team up with Atlantan virtuoso Mike Beshara to bring you a night of swing.
Also, we will begin our 2015 Brew School series starting with our old friend the AeroPress. This event will focus on proper brewing technique using this durable, portable, and fun to use brew method. Makes a damn fine cup, to boot! Brew School is fully interactive including aspects of brewing such as choosing the right coffee, selecting correct grind size, brewing your cup, and tasting the fruits of your labor. This class will be held January, 31st from 11-12:15, and is free and open to the public.
Finally, our monthly public cuppings for 2015 will begin Friday, January 30th. Public cuppings are held the last Friday of each month at 3:15, unless otherwise noted. Come and learn about different coffee producing regions, and learn to develop a taste for distinct flavor profiles.
So here's to a fabulous new year. Full of learning, growing, celebrating, and appreciating our coffee community, near and far. Stay tuned for our monthly events, and we look forward to creating an amazing new year with you. We are grateful for your continued support, and look forward to what new possibilities and adventures this year will bring.
