For our first fresh crop Ethiopian of the season we are excited to be releasing Worka Sakaro!  Introduced to us via our importing partners, Trabocca, we immediately fell in love with this beautifully juicy coffee.  Located in the Gedeo zone of Ethiopia, the Gedeb district is just a short drive south (around 40km to be exact) of the famed Yirgacheffe area.  The coffee derives its name from the private wet mill located here in the village of Sakaro, which utilizes fresh water from the nearby Worka River for their traditional washed processing. The meticulous and quality focused ideology of the station is evident in the cleanliness and vibrancy of their coffee.  Worka Sakaro is bursting with sweet floral aromatics and layered with delicate, saturated fruit flavors.  The acidity starts almost effervescent and fades to coat your entire mouth, reminiscent of biting into a ripe blackberry.  When drinking this coffee it’s hard to not imagine sitting on the front porch enjoying slices of fresh pineapple and drinking lemonade on a hot day.  It’s summertime.
